This texture file is a repaint of Mike Stone's GMAX, Boeing 757-200 in the colors of Northwest Airlines, circa 2000. 32 bit reflective textures with realistic night lighting and authentic aircraft markings and logos. First Class windows repositioned in their proper location for this A/C. Also, new wing and stabilizer textures included (cut and paste them into other Mike Stone 757 repaint files if you choose). Vortex effect also included. Original vortex effect by Project Airbus (thanks guys!). Best viewed at 1024 x 768. Because I don't like the use of mip-maps, these textures have only one layer and add greatly to the aircraft's detail. Also, I prefer not to use DXT3 format in my textures as this compresses the original information and causes many anomalies from the original.

VORTEX EFFECT:

Use keypad "I" to turn vortex effect on and off.

For the Vortex effect, cut and paste the effect files "fx_WingVortex.fx" to your 2002 effects folder. Path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\effects. Then, add this entry anywhere into your b727_200 "Aircraft.cfg" file:

[SMOKESYSTEM]
smoke.0=90.0,-27.3,-61.0, fx_WingVortex
smoke.1=90.0,-27.3,-48.0, fx_WingVortex
smoke.2=90.0,-27.3,48.0, fx_WingVortex
smoke.3=90.0,-27.3,61.0, fx_WingVortex

Okay, here's the skinny on the new vortex effect. I stumbled onto this effect through Project Airbus's new A320 release, and other's are adding this effect to their aircraft as well, so why not Mike Stone's 757 also, right? Project Airbus's release also includes an invisible .gau file that turns the vortex (smokesystem) effect on and off at approx. 150 to 175 kias, which is accurate for this effect. However, this invisible .gau file sometimes has an adverse effect on panel performance, affecting the Heading bug and Altitude settings, allowing adjustment by the tens and hundreds respectively. So, here's the easy way around it and being able to still enjoy it...

You don't need to have the invisible .gau file in order to enjoy this effect. I've decided to include the vortices effect and you can decide how and when you want to run it, okay? You can turn it on and off at will by using keypad "I" just like you'd normally turn on and off the smokesystem... whenever you want. I just think it looks pretty cool! Don't you? : )

Okay, got it? Have fun and enjoy!!
